America's Original Sin; Happy 4th of July!

Anyone who does not obey Confucius’ early version of the Golden Rule, “what you don’t want yourself, don’t do to others.” is by definition a hypocrite because they are guilty of using a double standard with regard to how they themselves prefer to be treated versus how they treat others. It is the same double standard used by the founders of America such as Thomas Jefferson, who wrote in the Declaration of Independence, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness..." while being guilty of enslaving men, women and children and denying them the very "unalienable Rights" that he asserts to declare independence from the supposed tyranny of the then English monarch. To this day Americans are still struggling to bridge the difference between the ideals stated in The Declaration of Independence and the Three-Fifths Compromise enacted in 1787 United States Constitutional Convention. 

The Three-Fifths Compromise is found in Article 1, Section 2, Paragraph 3 of the United States Constitution, which reads:

Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons.
